Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson was born Robert Thomas Pattinson on May 13th, 1986 in London, England. His mother, Clare, worked for a modeling agency and his father Richard sold vintage cars. He has two older sisters, Victoria and Lizzy.
Robert Pattinson attended the Harrodian private school in London. Although he was not very focused on studies, he did begin learning to play the piano at age three and the classical guitar at five. At about twelve, Robert began to do some modeling, but it would not last. By working backstage at the Barnes Theatre Company and later performing on stage, Robert’s career had shifted to acting by the time he was fifteen.
In 2004, Robert landed his first screen role as Giselher in the TV movie Ring of the Nibelungs. Only one year later, in 2005, Robert got to be on the big screen in one of the hugely popular Harry Potter films. He portrayed Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Of course, his big break came when he beat out 3,000 people for the coveted role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie based upon the book by Stephenie Meyer. Besides acting in Twilight, you can also hear his vocals on the soundtrack. He continues to be the vampire heartthrob in the Twilight Saga: New Moon and Twilight Saga: Eclipse movies and in Breaking Dawn.
Robert’s career hasn’t ended with Twilight. In 2008, he also starred as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, was in the film How to Be, and will be in Unbound Captives and Bel Ami.
Robert’s rise to stardom and sex symbol status has not gone unnoticed. Some notable achievements include AOL Moviefone’s Sexiest Male Star of 2009, Rolling Stone Magazine’s Hottest Actor of 2008, Yahoo’s Top Movie Heart Throb of 2008, one of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive 2008, and Moviefone’s Number 1 Hottest Young Star Under 25 2009.
